1950-1970 La Grande Arte Italiana

On 19 October, a large and unprecedented exhibition dedicated to the masterpieces of the most important Italian artists of the post-World War II period opens at Musei Reali (Sale Chiablese) in Turin.

The 80 pieces come from the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome and have been gathered together for the first time outside their home museum.

An extraordinary opportunity to bring to life a critical and exhibition project of great rigour and to present the artistic evidence of a unique season to a wide audience.

In addition to emphasising the 30-year relationship that superintendent Palma Bucarelli had with an exceptional group of artists, the exhibition highlights the richness of the Roman museum's collections and celebrates the 21 most representative artists who animated an unprecedented season in Italian modern art.

The exhibition, divided into twelve rooms, unfolds in a compelling itinerary that proposes comparisons and dialogues that took place in the post-World War II years among the most important Italian artists.
