Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025

From 8 to 15 March 2025, Turin will host the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will involve more than 1,500 athletes from 102 countries.
Special Olympics is an international movement that wants to change society's perspective and create a more inclusive world in which people with intellectual disabilities are not discriminated, but instead recognised for their abilities.
The goal is to overcome prejudice through unified sport, in which young people with and without disabilities work together to improve performances, but also embrace diversity and foster relational growth.
In this perspective, annual tournaments are organised for athletes, of which the World Games are the flagship event.
The Winter Games will take place in Turin, Sestriere, Pragelato and Bardonecchia, in the name of welcome and inclusion.
Several sports disciplines will be the stars of the competition: Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, floorball, figure skating on ice, speed skating on ice and dance sport.
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place respectively on 8 and 15 March in Turin, as well as other additional events.
