Berthe Morisot. An impressionist painter
In the year dedicated to the Impressionist Movement, GAM - Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Torino - presents the exhibition “Berthe Morisot. An impressionist painter”, a celebration of the history and artistic path of the only woman among the founders of the Impressionist movement.
Through a selection of around 50 works, including famous paintings, drawings and engravings, the exhibition illustrates Morisot's connection with the poetics of movement and brings out her highly personal stamp in capturing the transience of the moment, symbolising the fragility of existence, capable of gracefully representing the elements of nature and reality.
The exhibition also includes a display, by Stefano Arienti, a most recognized Italian artist, which creates a comparison with Morisot and the values of the impressionist language.
